NUR 301 Women's Hlth & Maternity Nurs
Prerequisites: Admission to the Nursing Major
This course is designed to assist students in gaining the knowledge, skills, and attitudes to meet the healthcare needs of women across the lifespan. This course addresses women’s health from puberty through the post-menopausal period; maternity care including pre-conception care, fetal development, normal and at-risk antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and neonatal nursing care. Active learning strategies such as simulation and hospital-based clinical experiences provide the students the opportunity to engage in hands-on experiences that reinforce didactic instruction. This course includes three didactic hours per week and 84 clinical hours per term.
