HBIO 452 Introduction to Biology 2

Prerequisite: HBIO-450. The course will examine Evolutionary biology and the origin of the species and phylogenetic mechanisms; the evolutionary history of biological diversity of bacteria, single-cell organisms, plants, and animals. We will analyze how animal form correlates to function. The course will also examine principles of general physiology such as digestion; mechanisms of circulation of nutrients and gasses; immune system; renal, endocrine, reproductive, and nervous systems.
