30.4 Expenses Related to Fieldwork
There will be expenses related to participation in fieldwork. Students are responsible for all expenses associated with fieldwork. The costs will depend on several variables, including, but not limited to, the cost of transportation and pre-clinical onboarding requirements.
Transportation
The cost of transportation pertains to the cost of utilizing public transportation and expenses related to driving one’s car such as gas, general wear and tear, and parking fees. If a student has a car, they may be required to drive to a fieldwork site that is not accessible via public transportation.
Meeting Clinical Fieldwork Facility Onboarding Requirements
There may be expenses related to meeting onboarding requirements for clinical fieldwork sites, such as health requirements, background checks, and drug screens. It is the responsibility of the student to adhere to all requirements for participation in a clinical experience at the assigned clinical site.
Summer Rotations
It is possible to complete a fieldwork rotation outside of the greater Boston area over the summer. If a student chooses to pursue a rotation outside of Boston, it is the responsibility of the student to procure and pay for housing and to cover all other related expenses such as transportation and onboarding fees.
