Prerequisites: Successful completion of all generalist level clinical courses including NS-621 (Pathophysiology), NS-622 (Pharmacology), NS-660 (Nursing Practice, Process and Skills); NS-661 (Nursing Practice, Common Problems); NS-663 (Biobehavioral), NS-664 (Community), NS-665 (Health Assessment), NS-680 Nursing Care of Children and Families or NS-500G (Foundations of Nursing Practice), NS-501G (Pathophysiology), NS-502G (Health Assessment), NS-503AG and NS-503BG (Pharmacology I & Pharmacology II), NS-510G Adult & Population Health I, NS-520G Adult & Population Health II , NS-530G Adult & Population Health III, NS-540G Nursing Care of Complex Adult Health, NS-550G Transition to Nursing Practice or RN status. Pass/fail and audit not available. In this course, students develop competence in the diagnostic reasoning process at the advanced practice level. Emphasis is placed on advanced practice physical, psychosocial, and cultural assessment skills, differentiating between expected and unexpected findings, and social determinants of health across the life span.
