Nuclear Medicine

The nuclear medicine technologist assist the physician in the use of radioactive tracers within the body to examine organ function and structure. Tasks include calibration of radiation detection equipment, meausurement of radioactive tracers, and mathematical calculations to determine test results.
During the Bachelor of Science program, students take a formal coursework and complete clinical hours up to a 40-hour week. This program is full-time for 117 weeks (undergraduate students), or 103 weeks. And the programs schedule extends through academic vacation periods.
