PA-735 Principles of Behavioral Medicine

Prerequisites: Successful completion of Semester 1 classes. This course provides students with a comprehensive look at the diagnosis and management of common psychiatric disorders, beginning with normal psychological  development, and the anatomy and physiology of neurotransmitters. Students will then explore risk factors,  signs, symptoms, and diagnostic studies that provide the foundation for the diagnosis and treatment, including pharmacotherapeutics, of common psychiatric disorders. Concepts of prevention, patient education, chronic   disease management, and follow-up will be covered.
