Attendance Policy

The Institute has no general policy regarding attendance, with the exception of practica and fieldwork. At the beginning of each course, the instructor will state the attendance requirement for the course. In the case of a practicum or field work in which the student has service or patient-care responsibilities, an unexcused absence may be cause for failure in the course and dismissal from the program.

In the event that a student receiving Title IV funding withdraws, is dismissed, or takes an institutional leave of absence, the last day of attendance will be that which is noted on the withdrawal, dismissal, or institutional leave of absence form. If a student does not provide official notification and simply ceases to enroll in classes, the student’s withdrawal date will be the date that the school determines is the last date of attendance at an academically related activity or the midpoint of the period of enrollment.
