NH-742 Pharmacology of Addictions

Prerequisites: None. Pass/Fail option available. This course will provide students with in-depth knowledge of pharmacology topics related to addictions. Students will understand the pharmacologic/physiologic action of substances that often lead to SUD/Addiction including effects such as intoxication, overdose, and withdrawal syndromes. Pharmacology related to non-substance addiction will also be discussed. Students will examine the evidence for pharmacotherapy treatment options for multiple substance use disorders and be able to design appropriate pharmacotherapy-based care plans.
