NLE-740 Critical Race Theory in Healthcare and Education

Historical stereotypes, centered around racism, contribute to implicit and explicit beliefs that have resulted in laws, policies, and practices that perpetuate disparities. This course speaks to the multiple ways that racism is experienced and uses critical race theory, which is rooted in the legal system and built on social justice, as a lens that illuminates structural and systemic racism in healthcare and educational settings. Critical race theory shapes the discourse and broadens how information is received, analyzed, and operationalized. The identification, appraisal, and revision of policies and practices that perpetuate inequities and ways to lead organizations in dismantling racism will be examined.
