FILM-172 Introduction to World Cinema

This course will focus on the thematic and technical concerns of great European and Asian directors from the era of the silent film and the Soviet philosophy of montage editing in the 1920s to the cinematic philosophies of the current day. Films from at least seven different countries will be featured.
