CNST 201 Construction Project Management

The course examines the various aspects of construction management including both traditional and nontraditional approaches such as Bid-Build, CM at risk, Design-Build and negotiated contracts. The emphasis is on project management and the role of project manager on a construction project. Topics covered include a review of project approach, roles of the construction manager, project documentation, and risk management.

    area.
  2. 2. Summarize the issues that impact a typical construction project.
  3. 3. Explain the different approaches to construction management.
  4. 4. Identify positions within a typical construction management team and describe the role(s) of
    each team member.
  5. 5. Apply cost and money management for a construction project.
  6. 6. Plan project scheduling and manage project timeframes and documentation.
  7. 7. Explain project risk management.
  8. 8. Explain the procurement process from subcontract selection through fabrication and delivery.
