This course includes the study of human resource management, community and government relations, administration, inspection and investigation, emergency service delivery, and health and safety for the Fire Officer.

Course Objectives

  1. 1. Describe the process of measuring service delivery capability.
  2. 2. Explain the process of budget development, budget preparation, budget management, and
    auditing practices and procedures.
  3. 3. Summarize the chief officer’s role in managing human resources.
  4. 4. Demonstrate an understanding of what is required to maintain central record/data repository
    systems.
  5. 5. Demonstrate an understanding of the chief officer’s role in managing and monitoring
    accidents and injuries.
  6. 6. Describe inspections and pre-incident planning for specific occupancies.
  7. 7. Identify how to establish a partnership with the community and public at large from a
    diversity perspective in developing solid public relations.
  8. 8. Describe incident planning and post-incident analysis with multi-agency involvement.
