PTAP 250 Clinical Neuroscience

This course focuses on nervous system anatomy and function, and normal/abnormal development. Students learn data collection techniques and interventions specific to patients with neurologic conditions throughout the lifespan.

Course Objectives

  1. 1. Discuss normal neuroanatomy and physiology.
  2. 2. Compare and contrast normal and abnormal motor development.
  3. 3. Employ data collection tools commonly utilized for patients with neurological impairments.
  4. 4. Discuss common neurological impairments encountered from infancy through adulthood.
  5. 5. Demonstrate appropriate physical therapy interventions for patients with neurological impairments, using safe and effective techniques.
