Music Education (Instrumental) - Letter of Recognition

For curriculum information, contact the Arts and Humanities Division—Room HVPA-200—443-518-1480.

This letter of recognition is designed for students who wish to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education, a Bachelor of Science in Music Education, or a Bachelor of Music Education degree in Instrumental Music upon transfer to a four-year institution. In addition to the curriculum required in HCC’s Music A.A. area of concentration, students seeking a Bachelor of Music Education must take certain additional 100- and 200-level courses such as General Psychology and Educational Psychology. Students should consult the catalog of the schools to which they might transfer for guidance in which specific general education core and other specialized curriculum to select in addition to the music curriculum while at HCC. Also, schools require the PRAXIS Exam, so students should take that into consideration in their academic plan.
