DMSU 131 Abdomen Ultrasound Lab

This laboratory course applies technical ultrasonic skills to the topics and concepts covered in the Abdomen Ultrasound course. Students will be introduced to ultrasound knobology and scanning protocols of the abdominal and male pelvis regions.

Course Objectives

  1. Produce sonographic images based on generalized abdominal/male pelvis protocols.
  2. Operate equipment knobology as it relates to image quality.
  3. Simulate patient positioning and techniques while applying ergonomics.
  4. Practice disinfection protocols and maintenance/safety of ultrasound equipment.
