HEED 213 Stress Management

This course is designed to provide students with the principles and methods necessary to develop a personal stress management plan as well as experience various means of stress reduction and relaxation. The concept of wellness, and the role stress and stress management play in personal wellness development, are examined.

Course Objectives

  1. Define stress theory concepts.
  2. Identify, evaluate, and demonstrate techniques and strategies for managing stress.
  3. Develop a stress management plan designed to improve personal health and wellness.
  4. Apply strategies of inquiry and exploration through researching the impact stress has on human health and evaluate the authority, credibility, and purpose of those sources.
  5. Describe the relationship stress management plays in the wellness concept.
  6. Describe the relationship between exercise, nutrition, and stress.
  7. Demonstrate the ethical and discipline-specific use of information while researching stress and stress management.
  8. Select an appropriate technology tool to present and collaborate on stress and stress management while demonstrating the effective use of that tool.
