HMDV 271 Honors Capstone II

This one-credit seminar is the second of a two-semester capstone sequence for students enrolled in an HCC Honors program. In this seminar, students will complete the capstone project formulated in HMDV 270 within one of three tracks: STEM; Social Sciences, Arts, and Humanities; or Community-engaged Scholarship. Students will also publicly share the results of the capstone project via a paper submission to a publication appropriate to the discipline or an oral or poster presentation at an honors-related conference or exhibition.

Course Objectives

  1. Implement project methods and analyses in keeping with timelines as defined in HMDV 270.
  2. Communicate project results with attention to supporting literature, methodologies, documentation and results, and broader relevance.
  3. Apply relevant skills in writing and design of manuscripts, posters, and/or slides for effective public presentation of project results.
  4. Provide constructive peer review.
  5. Present project results publicly via a paper submission to a publication appropriate to the discipline or an oral or poster presentation at an honors-related conference or exhibition.
