Application Procedures
To be considered for financial aid, student must complete the following steps:

Students must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The FAFSA is available online at www.studentaid.gov

Students must list HCC’s federal school code (008175) on their FAFSA, be admitted to HCC, and have a valid social security number (SSN) on file with Admissions and Advising so that HCC can receive the FAFSA results.
- Students who want to apply for Howard Community College Educational Foundation Scholarships should complete HCC's Online Scholarship Application at www.howardcc.edu/scholarships. HCC offers both need-based and merit-based scholarships.
Please Note: The FAFSA is made available October 1st of each year. Students seeking any type of financial aid are strongly urged to apply by the March 1 priority filing date. Financial aid files completed by March 1st will be given first priority for limited grant funds and need-based scholarship funds.
