Accelerated Bachelor of Science in Nursing
Overview
This direct-entry accelerated program is designed for individuals who have a college degree and no nursing experience. The program:
- Includes a 15-month, innovative curriculum leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree and qualification to take the RN licensure exam.
- Is an intensive, full-time program beginning each year in January and May
- Incorporates substantial clinical experience especially designed for this group of students
This program provides you with the knowledge and skill preparation that employers increasingly prefer for nurses who provide direct patient care.
Network of nursing professionals
As an MGH Institute graduate, you become part of an alumni and professional network of more than 1,000 nurses. Fellow alumni, as well as nursing faculty, can help you expand your professional knowledge and discover new ways to approach problems within a rapidly evolving health care environment.
Why an Accelerated BSN
The Accelerated BSN is the fast-track to direct patient care and flexible career opportunities. In 14 months, the Accelerated BSN program prepares you to take the NCLEX-RN licensure exam to become a registered nurse (RN). As a baccalaureate prepared RN, you will be prepared to provide direct care to diverse patient populations in a variety of generalist roles within a wide spectrum of health care settings.
The other direct-entry option for those who have no background in nursing is the three-year Master of Science (MS) in Nursing. This program prepares you to become an RN, then continues with advance practice specialty courses that prepare you to become either a nurse practitioner or a clinical nurse specialist.
