CSH-852 Advanced Scientific Decision Making in Speech Language Pathology

While evidence-based practice (EBP) is a well-established concept in the field of speech-language pathology, for a variety of reasons, evidence from research may not be the primary tool used to guide clinical practice. In this course, students will improve their understanding of clinical decision making in the field of speech language pathology. Using case studies, readings about the latest scientific research, discussions, and personal reflection, students will explore scientific evidence vs. practice patterns in their area of clinical practice, identify barriers to evidence-based decision making, and determine potential facilitators to improving decision making in clinical practice.
