1.1 Program Description
The Online Prerequisites Program at the MGH Institute of Health Professions provides students with the foundational content they need to succeed in graduate school and prepare for a career in healthcare. The program fosters a high-touch learning environment where students can learn with the flexibility promised by the online platform without compromising the academic rigor or professional behavior necessary for the future.
All of the undergraduate-level courses are designed to satisfy prerequisite requirements for entry into academic preparation for the health professions. All courses are taught fully online and asynchronously. There are no pre-scheduled class times and there is no need to come to the MGH Institute physical campus. While courses frequently include opportunities to interact “live” with faculty and peers, these are not required and are recorded for asynchronous viewing.
The program welcomes students from diverse backgrounds on diverse trajectories headed to diverse destinations. We foster preparation for future success regardless of where our students have been, where they are at right now, and what field they are pursing.
