5-1 Standing Committees
(a) The standing committees of the Senate shall include the Course and Curriculum Review Committee, Appointment and Promotion Committee, Faculty Governance and Academic Policies Committee, Hearing Committee and Nominating Committee.
(b) The purpose of standing committees is to conduct the ongoing business of the Faculty according to the Standing Rules. Each standing committee shall have a defined purpose, a set of standard tasks or business for which it is responsible, and may be charged by the Chair of the Faculty to take on additional tasks related to its purpose.
(c) The Chair of the Faculty may create ad hoc committees or task forces as necessary.
