Mathematics Major, Liberal Arts

Liberal Arts Studies students may select a major in Mathematics. The mathematics major with a suitable minor field of study can provide an entry to quantitative career fields as well as further study in the areas of biology, chemistry, physics, business and economics.

This major requires:

  • 45 QH including Mathematics courses taken as part of the General Education requirement
  • 25 QH of upper level coursework (two courses must be 400 level)
  • 15 QH of upper level courses must be taken at NLU
  • A minimum grade of “C” for each course in the major
