Elementary (EC-6) Certification
Elementary Certification is a core subjects certification which will qualify a teacher to serve regular students from early childhood through the sixth grade. The elementary certification can be pursued through either the Bachelor of Arts degree or the Bachelor of Science degree.
I. Academic Foundation
A. Bachelor of Arts Degree with Certification in EC-6 Core Subjects – 72 hours
English Rhetoric and Composition – 6 hours
English Literature – 6 hours
Public Speaking – 3 hours
Social Science – 6 hours
World Ideas – 3 hours

The following is the recommended sequence. Students are encouraged to stay with the sequence, taking the courses "blocked" together in the same semester to avoid scheduling conflicts.However, freshman seminar must be taken during the first freshman term.
