Public Safety/Parking
Gerald A. Gregg, director
Monday through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., during fall and spring semesters, all vehicles parking on campus must display a parking permit. This permit allows students to park in “general” parking areas. The lot around Waldschmidt Hall is restricted from student parking year round. Students may purchase a permit at the Office of Public Safety. Visitor parking permits may be obtained at the Pilot House Information Center during business hours or at the Office of Public Safety anytime.
Freshman resident students may not bring a car to campus nor may they park on city streets in the neighborhood surrounding campus. If this policy poses a hardship, an exception may be granted by public safety. The University also restricts parking in certain neighborhood areas by all members of the University community.
Students should familiarize themselves with campus traffic and parking regulations. A copy of these regulations is available at the Information Center, at the Office of Public Safety, and online at the public safety webpage under “Publications."
The public safety office is located at 5408 N. Warren St., across from Haggerty Hall, near the Chiles Center. The nonemergency (business) phone number for public safety is (503) 943-7161; for emergencies call (503) 943-4444.
