HON 101 Colloquium

This course introduces students to issues surrounding food sustainability, food safety, the locavore movement, and the politics of food. The course is an intensive investigation that features classroom work, field trips, and experiential opportunities for incoming Honors students. It provides an introduction to multi-disciplinary approaches to a common issue. Course is graded P/NP. Fee: $500

HON 201 Inventing the Future

This one-credit hour course aids students in clarifying their future and determining how to make it a reality. Students develop personal statements that can be modified for major scholarships or applications for graduate school and gain knowledge about interviews and how to prepare for them. Course is graded P/NP.

HON 300 Designing a Better UP

Develops leadership and teamwork skills in line with Honors’ focus on public intellectualism. Students will work in groups to identify a challenge at UP, generate a solution, and create a deliverable addressing this issue. The course emphasizes self-reflection and allows students to identify and articulate their leadership and teamwork strengths and skills. Course is graded P/NP.
