BIOL 471 Computing for Biology and Bioinformatics

Introduction to computational tools commonly used in the biological sciences including image and video analysis, spatial data analysis, biological molecule modeling, genetic sequence handling, phylogenetics, transcriptomics, and genomics. Examples from recent published literature including selections in the medical and environmental sciences are used. Includes a project component when taken for graduate credit.
