ENGR 221 Engineering Mechanics I
Introduction to two- and three-dimensional equilibria employing vector algebra; friction; centroids and centers of mass, virtual work, and moments of inertia. One- and two-dimensional kinetics and kinematics of rigid bodies by vector calculus; dynamics of rotation, translation, and plane motion; relative motion; work and energy; impulse and momentum. Must be taken in sequence. A student must have a grade of C- or higher in ENGR 221 before taking ENGR 222, and in ENGR 222 before taking ENGR 223.
