SPED 326 Behavioral Interventions: Theory, Principles, and Techniques

This course looks at models of human behavior and strategies for dealing with challenging behavior to aid future teachers in understanding and addressing behavior concerns. It addresses federal legislation related to behavior management and gives special attention to procedures for Functional Behavioral Assessment (FBA) and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS). Candidates learn about attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, types of emotional and behavioral disorders, and their responsibilities in biophysical interventions, such as medication effects and collaboration with health professionals.
