The curriculum prepares individuals to work in early childhood education settings serving children from age birth through age eight in diverse settings. It provides foundational work for entry in the field of early education.

Coursework includes introductory information concerning history of the field, theories of child development, roles and responsibilities, planning activities and environments as well as physical/nutritional needs of children, skills in communication with children and families, and guidance of children.
