WELD 120 Introduction to Print Reading
This course introduces students to the types of prints commonly used in the welding industry. Students learn to read and interpret welding prints, identify the essential components of a drawing, and understand the standard views used to communicate technical information. Instruction also focuses on the welding symbols needed to complete typical industry tasks.

- Interpret and navigate common steel fabrication blueprints.
- Identify key components and features of fabrication drawings.
- Identify and explain the purpose of various line types on technical prints.
- Interpret common blueprint views and projections.
- Interpret welding symbols, abbreviations, and notes.
- Apply basic scaling, measurement, and dimensional calculations to accurately determine sizes and specifications from fabrication drawings.
