2.4 Repeating Courses
Students who fail a course may repeat it only once, and must achieve a "C" or better the second time or be subject to dismissal from the Program. Withdrawing from a course with a "W" counts as one attempt. A failed course must be repeated the next time it's offered — usually the following year — and a student may file for a Leave of Absence until that semester.
Depending on the failed course and its prerequisites, a student may petition the Program faculty to continue part-time, taking select courses the following semester. Petitions are approved only in extenuating circumstances, and students who are approved will be placed on academic probation while part-time. No course or schedule adjustments will be made to accommodate this arrangement, and the student is responsible for any resulting additional expenses.
A Clinical/Academic Review and Support Team (see section 4.2) will be conducted for any student receiving a second grade of C in any course, including clinical experiences.
Failure of two or more courses, including clinical experiences, will result in a recommendation for termination from the Program
