Anth 557 Hunter-Gatherers

An investigation of the economic and social diversity among modern and ancient hunter-gatherers and the theories and methods used by archaeologists to investigate and explain that diversity. Examines topics such as the evolution of hunting and gathering, hunter-gatherer settlement and mobility strategies, social complexity among hunter-gatherers and hunter-gatherers in the modern world. Also offered for undergraduate-level credit as Anth 457 and may be taken only once for credit.
