Orthotics and Prosthetics

Entry requirements vary according to the professional school. Summarized below are the requirements for entry into the program at Loma Linda University. For admission into the Orthotics and Prosthetics program, students are required to complete a minimum 96 credits and required courses.
Required Courses:
Humanities (16)*
- At least one history course
- At least one philosophy course
- Select from at least three subject areas:
- Art/Music, Literature, Philosophy, Foreign Language (4 credits maximum in performing arts)
*The department recommends additional electives in this area.
Religion
4 credits per year; 8 credits max.
Individuals who have received a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university need only to complete the following prerequisite courses: BIOL 121, 122, 123; CHEM 105 or CHEM 141, 144; MATH 106 or BIOL 250; PHYS 201, 204 or PHYS 211, 214; PSYC 215 or PSYC 492.
In addition to the above, Loma Linda requires a documented minimum of 80 work/observation hours under the supervision of a CPO practitioner.
