HP-729 Human Computer Interaction

Prerequisites: HP-717. This course introduces the practitioner to the concepts of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI) design: the design, evaluation and implementation of interactive computing systems for human use and the study of major phenomena surrounding them. The course focuses on the design of interactive media and tools, factors that support human use, augment human learning, enhance communication, and lead to more acceptable technological developments in health care. Topics covered include human-computer interaction, human-centered design, interaction, understanding users, design methods, usability and evaluation, prototyping, collaboration design, observation and interview techniques, and social and legal implications for diverse populations.
