PT-644 Concepts of Motor Control

Prerequisite: None. This course will examine the principles of motor control and motor learning as it applies to healthy individuals across the lifespan and in pathological conditions. We will explore the roles of central processing, attention, sensory system and coordination in various types of movement and in postural control. We will examine these topics from a behavioral and a neuroscience perspective. Current literature will be applied to analysis of how these mechanisms are disrupted in various patient populations.
