Audit Policy

Auditing a class means that a student can register with audit status and pay the current audit rate. Auditing allows a a student to take a class without the benefit of a grade or credit for a course. An Institute student who audits a class does so for the purposes of self-enrichment and academic exploration.

Some classes at the MGH Institute have been approved for audit status.

Students who wish to audit a class that has been approved to be offered with audit status will be allowed to register on a space-available basis with permission of the advisor or instructor/coordinator.

Students auditing courses receive a grade of "AU" on their official academic transcript indicating that the class was as an audit.

To drop an audited course, students must follow regular drop/add or withdrawal procedures.
