Master of Science in Health Professions Education

  • The program does not require GRE's from applicants who have already earned a graduate degree. Applicants without an existing master’s degree are required to submit official GRE scores. The general test is required for admission and must have been taken within five years of application. Our school code is 3513.

  • A personal interview may be required for those being considered for admission. Interviews are by invitation only.

PhD in Health Professions Education

  • Applicants may apply for the PhD through two tracks for the current application cycle:

    1. Post MS-HPEd PhD: 33 credits*
    *Applicants who have a master’s level degree in health professions education from other institutions should apply through this track and include materials related to completed courses so that they may be applied toward the PhD. 

    2. Combined MS-HPEd and PhD: 66 credit**
    **Applicants who have very similar master's degrees or higher, should apply through this track. Some MS courses may be waived, and in other cases courses will not be waived. 

    For either track each individual case will be considered on its own merits for this first entering class. Over time, we will be able to provide subsequent cohorts of applicants more specific information.

PhD in Rehabilitation Sciences

  • All applicants are required to submit a completed online application along with the non-refundable application fee. 
  • Applicants are required to submit official GRE scores. The general test is required for admission and the MGH Institute school code is 3513.
  • Applicants should be clinically certified and/or licensed in a rehabilitation field (e.g. physical or occupational therapy, speech-language pathology, rehabilitation nursing, physiatry, etc.).
  • An interview is required for all qualified candidates. All eligible candidates will be contacted directly.
