HNUTR-453 Nutrition

Prerequisite: none. This course provides students with an overview of nutrition as it relates to overall health and quality of life. Topics include the 6 classes of nutrients, dietary recommendations for the general public, energy balance and nutrient delivery, and special considerations throughout the life cycle. Students will also examine the specific needs of patients on special diets, investigate the unique foods and dietary patterns of several cultures, and provide an analysis of their own diet.
