Administrative professionals held about 3.9 million jobs throughout the United States in 2014. Administrative professionals work in organizations of every type. Approximately 60 percent work in service-providing industries, including health care and social services, education, government services, and science and technical services. The employment of administrative professionals is expected to increase by 3 percent nationally through 2024.
