Paralegals and legal assistants held about 285,600 jobs in 2016. Legal services and private law firms employed about 73 percent; most of the remainder worked for corporate legal departments and various levels of government. Employment of paralegals and legal assistants is projected to grow 15 percent between 2016 and 2026.
