Median annual wages nationally of registered nurse were $71,730 or34.48 per hour in 2019. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $50.800, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $106,530. Median annual wages in the industries employing the largest numbers of registered nurses in 2019 were:

  • $78,390 - in government organizations
  • $73,650 - in hospitals
  • $63,990 - in nursing and residential care facilities
  • $68,320 - in offices of physicians

Employment of Registered Nursing is projected to grow 12% from 2014-2028, faster than the average for all occupations.
