The median annual wage of electricians was $56,180 in May 2019. The median wage is the wage at which half the workers in an occupation earned more than that amount and half earned less. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $33,410, and the highest 10 percent earned more than $96,580.
In May 2019, the median annual wages for electricians in the top industries in which they worked were as follows:
- $62,940 - Government
- $60,000 - Manufacturing
- $54,630 - Electrical contractors and other wiring installation contractors
- $49,140 - Employment services
