A survey of the visual and material cultures of the Classical world, from earliest times through the end of the Western Roman Empire. Architecture, sculpture, ceramics, painting, jewelry, tools, settlement patterns, human remains, and other types of evidence for ancient life and aesthetics are discussed in their historical contexts.
