REL 242 Religion and Atheisms

A study of major historical and contemporary varieties of atheisms as responses to diverse forms of religion, key religious responses to atheisms, and possibilities for dialogue and shared concerns between atheists and non-atheists. The course will examine diverse forms of atheism, including atheisms that emerge within distinct religious perspectives, as well as major and distinct forms of theism and religion with reference to which atheisms have developed as responses.
