Teaching and Scheduled Responsibilities
The teaching and scheduled responsibilities of faculty are performed during the nine months of the academic year. The year officially begins with the Opening Faculty Convocation, held in late August or early September. Faculty are expected to be available on campus from that time through Commencement, except for vacation periods and sabbatical leaves. For those who have fulfilled their full teaching load, teaching in a four-week summer session will be under separate contract. Teaching in the eight-week summer session is by separate contract and is not part of one’s obligation.
