PHY 130 Applied Math - Physics & Engr

Prerequisites: MAT 125 (or waiver), or concurrent enrollment OR permission of instructor

This course stresses applications of Mathematical methods and techniques that are common to physics and engineering. Topics generally include: dimensional analysis, scaling and order of magnitude estimates; theory of measurements, error analysis and propagation of errors; applied trigonometry and geometry in 2D and 3D; matrices and determinants; vectors; complex numbers; and series and approximations. Four hours of lectures each week.
