ENGL-208 Contemporaary Poetry

This course focuses on conventions and characteristics of contemporary poetry and poets' creative process. Students study terminology and literary concepts in order to interpret, analyze and critically evaluate poems written from the beginning of the twentieth century to the present. In addition, they are introduced to critical reading strategies, literary criticism, and an expanding literary canon which includes the work of culturally diverse poets. This course is writing intensive.
