AST 12200 Dutch Oven Cooking

This lecture and lab course introduces the student to the life-time activity of Dutch-oven cooking. Students will learn the history of the Dutch oven, America's official open fire cooking vessel, and preparation of simple meals to include meats vegetables, soups, breads, and desserts over an open fire or a fireplace hearth. The course will enhance one's understanding of frontier life and provide cooking skills to further enjoyment of the outdoors. Lab fee required.
