Athletic Training Program

Program Description

Lindenwood University offers a Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training. This program is designed to prepare the athletic training students to succeed on the Board of Certification (BOC) examination and become Certified Athletic Trainers. Lindenwood University’s Athletic Training BOC first time pass rate is currently 85%.

The content of the academic program is largely based on the Athletic Training Education Competencies developed by the Professional Education Council of the National Athletic Trainers' Association. Throughout the program, students must also complete the Clinical Integration Proficiencies, which are assessed by clinical preceptors while fulfilling the required clinical hours. In total, the student will be placed in a variety of traditional and non-traditional athletic training settings and will accumulate a minimum of 1155 contact hours under the supervision of a clinical preceptor and/or certified athletic trainer.

The athletic training education program at Lindenwood University is a rigorous and intense three year program that places specific requirements and demands on the students enrolled in the program. Lindenwood University’s athletic training education program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Athletic Training Education (CAATE www.caate.net).
